About F.I.R.E.D Before FIRED
Financial literacy and career content to build greater financial and career control.

The Channel’s Creation
The channel was created by a former Fortune 500 executive to provide financial content and advocate for public financial wellness.
It’s designed to address the two biggest employee-focused issues in the workplace that contribute to thriving at work and in life.
1. Lack of financial literacy skills and planning. In his interactions with the public, meeting financial influencers, and having access to research, he saw that the majority of Americans—even those with high incomes—either ignored or often didn’t learn basic financial literacy skills (40% of the public can’t pass a financial literacy test). This skill gap potentially costs thousands yearly in missed opportunity costs and fees, making retirement or financial freedom harder to achieve.
2. Optimizing for workplace value, not just output. Most people are shocked to find that skill, talent, experience, and even hours worked aren’t immune to workforce reductions and don’t guarantee promotions. “Meta” skills like presentation, networking, political savvy, and detecting change are often also required.
F.I.R.E.D Before FIRED brings content and resources on both issues to help people starting or in the middle of their careers.
Learning skills to save money and focus on F.I.R.E. (Financial Independence Retire Early)
Why base it on F.I.R.E.? While it’s a tool for retirement, this focused approach also turns your money into a tool to accelerate more work choices and career resilience. Whether that’s F.U. (F*ck You) money, flexibility to leave if you don’t like a workplace, or breathing room if you lose your job.
Learning to navigate the real workplace. Work is like a video game. You can play and win the game through skill alone. But some people know the cheat codes that help them play better. We provide content to help you use those cheat codes—from workplace politics to using LinkedIn to income-increasing strategies and more.
It’s about creating opportunities to manage careers and optimally leverage your value, both for income and demonstrating market value for long-term work success.
Most people will retire before they planned. Either through layoffs or health related issues.
